Question my mailserver ip address has gone awry!

Someone please save me! I am totally lost now.....

A few days ago I asked UH to reset my MX record; I was hosting my own mail server, but moved back to UH.

However, we are now 48 hours past the change and something is wrong but I just can't figure out what.

if I ping the mailserver name it resolves to my old ip (on my server), whereas it should resolve to the UH servers. I have asked friends on three different ISPs and they all resolve to the old ip address. I have accessed the Windows 2003 DNS server in the firm I work for and flushed the cache to force it to lookup the entries -- again it still insists on using the old ip address after a lookup.

If I use an online DNS or MX lookup tool on the web they resolve to the UH mail servers correctly.

I know ISPs cache DNS data, but I am told they refresh frequently (typically daily) and I can't see how three different ISPs can all get it wrong/not update.

UH support say everything looks good at their end.

So what is going on? Any help/thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thanks

David
