Hello,

Please pardon my ignorance. I am a newbe to UnitedHosting.

I am moving some sites here and most of the files in them end in .htm as well as some ending in .html (This also includes some files named index.htm as well as index.html).

So can I leave the existing sites and files as they are? In other words can I leave the files ending in .htm such as products.htm contactus.htm aboutus.htm index.htm etc...

Hello,

Yes you can use .html or .htm or .php or .shtml

But if you want to have index.htm as your site index page then you need to add following code in your site /var/www/html .htaccess

DirectoryIndex index.htm index.html index.php
