LIBERTY e-mail being blocked

Hello,

Is anyone else hosted on LIBERTY getting problems with mail being blocked?

Apparently, I cannot send mail to any hotmail account.

There also seems to be a block in place on AT&T

I have also been unable to get through to a btinternet.com address - no bounce msg

Regards

Alec

We have an automatic script check most popular blacklists and currently liberty is clean. Do note that services like hotmail actually block sometimes specifically on senders domain or patterns rather than actual server/ip address so it could be more specific to you rather than liberty as a whole.

Please paste in the return messages your getting which make you suspect the block to a support ticket, we can then assist you.

I assume the Bulk (junk) folder has been checked to make sure the mail wasn't delivered there.

Although I'm not on Liberty, I've just done a test from one of my domains hosted here at UH and sent a mail to a btinternet.com address. Using Thunderbird to check mail, nothing came through on the btinternet.com account. I went online to the web interface and there it was in the Bulk folder. It's odd they deemed the test email as spam though. :|

Just a thought, maybe worth checking.

Edit: added extra comment

Hotmail and Yahoo, which BT mail is handled through, are very well known for making decisions about what mail to accept through "pocket book logic" where they advise that signing up for their paid services is really the only absolute way to ensure that they will accept mail from you.

Funny how in most businesses this would be classified as extortion, while in internet services such as mail, it is merely claimed to be protecting their users.

Here is an interesting blog article discussing a particular example from Hotmail in more detail in case anyone is interested:
