Unhappy Redelivery of deleted emails

I have a problem with a client and indeed with my own emails in that we frequently get deleted emails or read emails being redelivered as unread. Emails which have been filed away on local mailboxes all reappeaar in the inbox. UH Support have tried deleting her account and recreating it, I have created a new user account on her Mac yet still the issue remains. Anyone else experienced this and have any ideas? Using IMAP on Mac OSX 10.5 and iPhones all set to for IMAP.

Not bypassing support, they have been very helpful but the problem remains unsolved. Looking for other resellers ideas now

51 people have looked at this - nobody having similar problems or any ideas? My inbox is doing the same again today. Is it a combination of Mac Mail and iPhone both using IMAP on this account?

Mac Mail and Iphones do seem very predominate in this arena.

I get the same issue on my iPhone, but tends to be when I have limited internet connection and presumably the iphone caches the old data and doesnt read the real inbox correctly.

This happens to me as well. IMAP on iPod Touch, Mail (2 instances on different ISPs). Webmail always seems to do the right thing however. Messages do not always stay deleted, or reappear when moved from the inbox to another folder. I've put up with this for a couple of years, but if there's a solution I'd love to know it!

I'm sure the solution would be with the iPhone/iPod Touch, not with the hosting, but thats just my opinion.

It's not the device that's at issue, but the clients - Mail on both mobile and desktop platforms. I'd be happy to post (non-sensitive!) settings if that helps?
