domain transfer

I've just signed up for web hosting, transferring my domain from UK2 net. They have transferred the nameservers and the whois page shows the new servers and details of UH. The tag will not be transferred for a week or so. Meantime, mails to my domain (danobe.co.uk) are bouncing. I did ask in advance whether any mails would be lost/bounce and i was told that they would go either to my old host or to UH. I have emailed support but they are much slower in responding than previously and than all the positive comments in the forum, though they did say i need to wait for the domain to "resolve" - what does that mean please?

Can emails work without the tag being transferred or i am now without email for over a week? Anything i/you can do to fix? (UK2 net take 3 days to wake up in the morning so please don;t tell me it's up to them).

Thanks in advance

DNS changes are not instant. It can take upto 48 hours for these changes to finally resolve to our server. If the domain does not resolve to our server then mail should go to your old host (unless they have disabled your mail account already in which case that would explain your mail bouncing?). The tag change has no affect on the domain resolving or not so no, you wont be without email for a week.

Thanks for the prompt response - v impressed with the hours you guys keep.
Guess i'll just wait a bit (and curse UK2 for bounced mail meantime)
