Silly/Stupid Domain Names

I hope this gives you a laugh, as it did me. And maybe you have a few of your own to contribute. I'm referring to people who bought domain names for their business, not realising what people would make of them. I came across both of these in the past few weeks.

1. A developer who bought a domain for his client who is selling TV Accessories - and the domain he bought was "tvfriendly". I did point out to him that most visitors would not be coming there because they sold television accessories.

2. A developer who bought the domain "fannyjewellery" because the woman running the store is called Fanny and she sells jewellery. It doesn't help that the images of the items sold are laid out on backgrounds of whispy feathers all grouped together in soft focus - which looks like something else entirely. I did point out that most visitors would be going to the site expecting to find "intimate" body jewellery.

Have you come across any domains which made you laugh?

cumstore.co.uk

To add insult to injury they also moved to Cockermouth

Okay, That beats my two samples.

I dread to think the number of hits your customers site was getting - 99.999999% of which would have had nothing to do with their business.

There's a company that makes bespoke/engraved pens called Pen Island. They can be found at penisland.net
