About 14 months too late, but after organising a shared dedicated server, I'm finally about to do some work on the hosting side of my business.

Until now, I've only had time to program, but now I have staff I have a little bit of time...

Not sure I can manage 774 new signups in 3 days though, would require a few more servers setting up....

percepts, unless UH make 500 sites in a day, I don't think you've got much chance of winning this time
You were at least a little closer than me though!

I was on course for a win for a while but then some big Gremlins got into the system. Mind you it could still happen by tomorrow. You never know

We actually had a problem with our site counter during the php5 changeover at the beginning of the week, so it was "stuck" until I noticed.

The count is again correct and updating daily.

We had our hands full somewhat

Its just a script hidden away in crontab so was completely forgotten, and it just required a very small change (fopen was turned off I believe).

Its getting close now... 19935 total sites at the moment, 26 people have been knocked out already, and only 11 remaining with a chance of winning the TomTom!

As my guess was woefully off the mark I went out and bought a TomTom instead - very good.

36 sites to go, and my guess August 25th. I need a recession and quick, anyone got a spare one, I only need it for a month.

It is now official, we hit 20,000 sites on 19th July 2008.

I will check for the winner later on, but just wanted to post the official result as it happened!

Looks like Euge has won with a guess of 17th July, unless anyone wishes to correct me.
