Christmas Traditions

What do you do during your Christmas season? What traditions do you follow in your country? Family? Do you celebrate Christmas?

I am away from my family right now and I will miss them terribly during Christmas eve. We always have ham. Guess I will invite friends over since I can't be eating ham all by myself lol.

Having Ham at Christmas is a USA tradition - mainly I suspect because you have your Turkey at Thanksgiving.

Here we have a mix of countries and so a mix of traditions. On Christmas Eve we have the Austrian tradition of a poor meal (Sausages with Sauerkraut), and on Christmas day we have the British tradition of Turkey with Roast Potatoes and Parsnips, with Sage and Onion Stuffing and Gravy (we pass on the Brussel Sprouts). Later on Christmas day we have Christmas Pudding.

On Boxing Day (the day after Christmas Day) we have cold turkey with sage and onion stuffing with French Fries.

The cat gets the rest of the Turkey!

I'm away from my family right now too so I will be having different Christmas traditions this year. At home, we prepare food and people come in and out of our house all day. This year, my friends and I are planning a party at my place. It's just some simple food and music, but anything can be fun with your friends right?
