BOUNTY PAYMENTS :)

Just to let you all know, we have a new server coming online this weekend - We want to fill this one as fast as possible and are offering bounty payments to any existing customer who introduces a friend !

We are still working out what they will be - but do you guys think this would work ? Would cash bounty's make you introduce a friend / co-worker ? let us know in this thread!

i'd also do it for like a free GB of space or another domain or something of that nature...

Maybe we could put points against each package, so you can save up and get free stuff or exchange the points for cash.

brilliant.

something like:

10 points/referal
+1 point for every $10/year they spend over $50

+5 points for each of their referals
+1 point for every $20/year they spend over $40

+3 points for each of their referals
+1 point for every $30/year they spend over $30

+1 point for each of their referals
+1 point for every $40/year they spend over $20
stop.

each point can count as $3 towards hosting with UH, or $2 in the mail. (this is essential - penalize if they want to not support UH)

I will make it simpler, and slightly more rewarding - Will do some work on this later.

i will simply allocate X points per package, and make it so ANY refferal is worth something
(probably minimum $5).

I think i have it:

100 points = $1 credit.

Credit can be cashed in (we will paypal you the money) or it can be spent on UH services.

How you earn points? Simple refer people to signup for an account with us! here is how much each account is worth in points:

Bronze Host : 250 ($2.50)
Silver Host : 500 ($5)
Gold Host : 750 ($7.50
Platinum Host : 1000 ($10)
Startup Reseller : 1500 ($15)
Pro Reseller : 2000 ($20)
Enterprise Reseller : 3000 ($30)
Enterprise+ Reseller : 4000 ($40)

Please note: this is not live yet - just my thoughts right now

I think this sort of reward is better than nothing, and all you have to do is tell people about us.

hmmm..... MORE rewarding? under my genius plan, a bronze hosting plan would have got me $30.... lol..... go with my plan!

We dont pay for impressions.

Our real advertising is targetted and done on a CPM basis - impressions are a waste of money

... we once made a script for a pay-per-search service, where we put a search engine on our site - every time someone searches something we got 2 cents... we made a javascript in a hidden frame that automatically searched like 2 times per hit.... we racked up like $1000 that way... but we never got it cus they found out we were cheating...

thats exactly why we dont do pay per impression schemes.

Its too easy to get impressions and not actually get any visits/customers.

yeah, people who do that are evil, unless it was to that one company we did it for. we honestly hated them. they signed me up for like 20 different spam mailing lists. we'd never do that to UH. anyway, back to the topic, i think you should reward people for spending their points on hosting by at least a 3:2 ratio. (3 cents per point as opposed to 2 cents per point in a check)

Oh, that reminds me.....have you got any small UH banners or buttons? I'd just like to put them on my site because a lot of my visitors ask me where my site is hosted.
