| When is UnitedHosting moving?
The move will take place on the night of Saturday 18th November 2006 between 11PM and 5AM. Why is UnitedHosting moving?
The simple answer is that we require more space to continue growing at our current rate, and to improve and introduce new features to our services. Our current location does not have the space to accommodate our growth and several other factors have forced us to seek new premises:
- TelecityRedbus Merger
Telecity and Redbus have merged and as a result there have been massive price rises (in the order of 400%) along with a reduction in service in the current datacenter. Many staff that we've formed productive relationships with in Redbus have now been let go during that merger. Increased pricing and reduced service have led us to look elsewhere.
- Long Term Stability
The new TelecityRedbus is unwilling to commit to long term contracts on our datacenter space lease, which we require to ensure stability of our own products and services.
- Expansion Space
UnitedHosting are expanding rapidly (over 100% year-on-year growth) however there is no further space currently available at our TelecityRedbus location. We approached TelecityRedbus to commit to further space, but were told it was not going to be made available. In order to continue expansion of our service we require at least two times as much space as we have now.
- Office space
TelecityRedbus have informed us that on-site offices will not be remaining after February 2007. We are not prepared to continue hosting our equipment in a facility without our own staff being available on-site. The new facility provides us office space next door to our server hosting suite and allows us to continue with 24/7 on-site staff. Will connectivity remain the same?
Absolutely. The new facility will have the exact same premium network and connectivity. We are maintaining our POP in TelecityRedbus which will continue providing the same quality bandwidth to our new building across the street via a fiber network.
You won’t notice any difference, other than our product offerings and features expanding with our new found freedom at the new facility. How does the physical infrastructure compare to your current site?
Every aspect of the physical infrastructure at our new location meets or exceeds our current systems. In addition we're now located in our own private hosting area of the new facility, with solid brick walls seperating us from other tenants in the building. This gives us added security and also allows us to run our own independent air conditioning and fire detection/suppression equipment.
The new office is three times the size of our current office and located next door to our server space - this allows us to hire additional staff and to ensure we can continue at our current growth rate while maintaining quality service and support.

This is an exciting moment for UnitedHosting and we know your going to love some of the new features arriving soon after this move is completed - We're gearing you up for the best 2007 ever!
