Our UK service is currently being disrupted by a large scale DDOS attack affecting the entire datacenter. We are working with providers to filter the attack and hope to regain normal service shortly.

REASON FOR OUTAGE:

Initial investigating shows that some kind of attack crashed a core Juniper router into the datacenter (core-1.lhc.lon.uk.as29017.net). This was restarted within 5 to 10 minutes and filtering put in place.

IMPACT:

Multiple UK based servers down for ~ 15 minutes.

ACTION TAKEN:

Case has been referred to J-TAC (the Juniper 24/7 technical support team) with the highest priority so we can ensure such a crash does not occur again.
