This weekends server migration details

As you may be aware we are going to be running server migrations from 6pm (UK Time) today (Friday). This is expected to take the whole weekend to complete. Depending on what kind of hosting account you have will determine if any action will be required by yourselves.

Shared Hosting Clients:

- You are a shared hosting client if you have one of our basic hosting accounts (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) or a custom basic hosting account. If you are one of these customers no action will be required by yourselves.

Reseller customers who use unbranded DNS (e.g. ns1.server.xssl.net / ns2.server.xssl.net):

- If you are a reseller customer using unbranded DNS then no action will be required by yourselves.

Reseller customer who use own branded DNS (e.g. ns1.yourdomain.com / ns2.yourdomain.com) and United Hosting control this domain:

- As long as the domain is controlled by United Hosting then we will make any required changes to your DNS.

Reseller customer who use own branded DNS (e.g. ns1.yourdomain.com / ns2.yourdomain.com) and you control the domain via. another domain registrar:

- You will be emailed IP details for your main nameserver domain that needs changing. Please note, any domains that you have just pointed at your nameserver’s will NOT need any changes made, only the domain that is used for the actual nameserver.

We hope that the server migration will not cause any downtime but if you run an active mysql based forum there is a chance that you may lose some posts because their will be a certain amount of time between when we run the old server backups and restore these to the new server (anything added to a mysql db between this time would not make it over to the new server).

As we will be very busy this weekend we do not want to be constantly having to reply to emails. Please DO NOT reply to this email. All information regarding the moves will be posted to a thread in our customer support forums. Please DO NOT email us asking for your IP addresses, these will be emailed to you when ready. Also, we would appreciate if you do not raise any non-urgent support issues until Monday next week.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,

United Hosting Support Team
