Hosting Oscommerce

Hi there,

I'm looking for a hosting site to run oscommerce. On your website you mention that it is easy install. how easy is easy!?! as I have some web experience but not in php. Also, how big is the initial install? Does it take a large chunk out of the basic storage space?

Any issues I need to know about? Will your basic packages support all of oscommerce's functionaility and redirecting to pay sites?

Many Thanks

The initial install is very easy. If you're at all unsure we can do the initiall installation for you, just open a support ticket when you're account is open. The basic script takes very litte disk space, it's only when you start adding products that you will start using more space.

All our hosting packages will support Oscommerce without a problem.

it doesn't need any knowledge of php to install but some knowledge about a web server would be helpful. it takes about 5 minutes and uses less than 20MB space including the demo catalogue database. for 50MB space you could have a few hundreds of products depending on, say, your product description.
Yes UH servers are the most cscommerce friendly at the moment.

Also with PHP5 coming you should make sure that you patch up the code ready for PHP5. Currently osCom is PHP4 and given the switch-over any new shop being installed now should already be thinking ahead.
