SPF checking & Mailfoundry

I like the idea of using Mailfoundry, but I do have a query about its implementation here.

I'm with another web host at the moment and using a third party company that uses Mailfoundry. There is an issue currently with some domains, such as tiscali.co.uk, where emails they send to me are bouncing back to them. I've been told this is because of my server doing an SPF check and a check to see if the gateway sending the mail is allowed to send from that domain. The guy at the third party company does, however, advise turning off SPF checking.

We've been trying to resolve this issue for nearly 2 weeks. Support at my web host has been testing, even adding SPF records for my domain (now removed), and 3 days ago added a whitelist for SPF and tied it into the server. That hasn't worked either, but what annoys me is I've not had a reply to my last ticket on it with headers from one of the emails I've managed to get hold of.

My query basically is to ask if there are any known situations like this here and whether SPF checking is enabled, with or without SPF records.

Hi Tony,

Please could you email our sales team. I am not quite sure on the answer to this. As far as I am aware our MailFoundry does NOT perform any SPF checking and we do not have any problems with emails to tiscali. We do not use MailFoundry to filter any OUTGOING email either only incoming.

I would expect the problem your having to actually be more related to the setup of sendmail on a server somewhere, rather than MailFoundry specification.

Again if you could contact our sales team (sales@unitedhosting.co.uk) we can go into more detail on your current situation with the other host and make some more firm advice and double check you won't experience any such problems with UnitedHosting. Apologies for the delay in replying on the forums but this one was passed on to me.

Thanks for your reply. I'll send off an email to your sales team as I'm genuinely interested in signing up to Unitedhosting, but need to check a few things before doing so.

I'd like to mention that since I've moved to UH, I've been able to receive emails from tiscali.co.uk users again. Testing took place earlier, and I'm thrilled to bits that problem is sorted!

A big thumbs up from me.
