Blog Security & Low Memory

Hello:

I have 2 specific concerns with my blog -- Admin security & low memory. Perhaps one of the webmasters has had some experience in this area to help me out.

Security

I had tried to secure the Admin program in the blog under https using the instructions from this thread for b2 evolution software.

b2evolution :: View topic - How do I set b2evolution to run under https?

When I tried it, the login panel for Admin showed that the program was under https but Error 404 showed up.

Quote:
The requested URL /b2evolution/blogs/htsrv/login.php was not found on this server.

I changed back the blog htaccess and advance.php files until this can be worked out.

Does anyone have any ideas on how the blog can be secured for the Admin panel – how are people securing their passwords for their blogs?

Low Memory

In the blog's Admin panel, I came across the below.

Quote:
PHP memory_limit
8M
The memory_limit is low. Some features of b2evolution may fail to work;
I'm seeing a few quirky things happen to the blog that I've never seen before and I hoping that this is the problem and not some unknown bug.

Why would the memory be low.... and how do I increase it?

I'd greatly appreciate the help to fix these 2 issues. Thanks

Please contact support and ask them to increase your PHP memory from 8M to 16M to solve the php memory warning.
