Granting access to other users

Hi guys,

I need to set up access to my websites so a programmer can gain access, in order to integrate my osC stores with an order management program.

Can anyone tell me how I go about granting ftp and mysql access to another user, so that I can then delete the user account when the work has been done?

With regards to ftp access, if I create a new user with ftp access in the ensim control panel, I can use this to access and change the new users sub folder but anything outside of this folder can only be viewed, there are no priveliges to upload/edit files in the osC site folder.

Also, I cannot see a way to add a new user to the mysql database.

Will I have to pass on my username and passwords and then change the password when the work is done or am I just missing something obvious?

Cheers,
Rich

Ahh,

Think I have just found the answer to this on the oscanswers forum, posted by Terra:-

This doesn't work with Ensim Control Panels though as only the main account user has FTP access ... but good practice would be to change the passwords after the work is completed (although this does not solve the tracking issue). Terra
Changing the passwords when the work is complete must be the solution I guess?

Cheers,
Rich

Yeah, thats the only way of doing it, give them the ftp/mysql details and then change both when you have finished.

This is where I hope Parrells changes this and allows you to setup users to access certain folders of your account. As above that is where it is very useful.

I know that DirectAdmin has something similar to this.
