some online shop owners reported today they were receiving the above mentioned error with paypal. I did a search on google and found the same error was mentioned on paypal developer community forum which suggested paypal was currently investigating the problem.

wonder if anyone see this error with paypal recently?

it appears paypal has had some serious scripting problems which would allow XSS attack according the Register. I guess in an attempt to stamp out this problem, paypal may just inadvertently cause the error which I posted above.

This morning the paypal.com site was throwing a 500 internal server error for at least 20 minutes when i was trying to use it. This was on the main paypal page.

Also we have reports from customers today that they are receiving payment notification emails multiple times for the same payment.One customer has received over 200 of the same email from paypal.com so far and its still going.

Seems they have really broken something.

The problem only seems to apply to non-USD transactions.

As usual Pay Pal was only thinking of USA based transactions - ignoring the rest of the world.
