Odd redirect/hijack problem.

I'm not exactly sure what to call this condition, but here's what happened:

First, could anyone go to www.artietoo.com and see what they get? Thanks,

I created that account, registered the domain name, then uploaded a simple "index.html" file for testing purposes. I knew that it would take some time for the new domain name to become active, but I've had some that worked after only a few hours, so I tested it every so often.

At some point in time, the error page that I would usually get, got replace by the http://searchsys.com link. I can't figure out how this could have happened. Just to be sure, I tried my artietoo.com link on a different computer - same result.

How could this have happened? How could my link get redirected to a completely different website? Is this some sort of virus or hijack thing?

I hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks all, Artie

Some name cheapo registration companies have a deal whereby until the nameservers on a domain are changed they point it to some sort of service out of which they can make money by clickthrus or whatever.

Assuming you have changed the nameservers to the correct ones for your account you should allow at least 48 - 72 hrs for propogation. They currently are set to NAME-SERVICES.COM

Thanks red; you actually gave me more help than you may realize. I had forgotten that I had to change the nameservers manually. Now they're pointed the right direction, we'll see what happens.

Thanks again,

Artie
