| Alternative to cafepress? A client has asked me a question which has me scratching my head TBH
They want to start selling branded merchandise (T-Shirts, Mugs etc) and they are looking for a UK alternative to cafepress - Does anyone know of such a UK service? I've tried Google but it looks like most UK businesses use cafepress! But the postage costs from the USA make this a less than appealing option |

| i took a look at idcle, i think i'd call that in "beta" stage... but good luck to them.
for a fully-functioning Worldwide Europe UK CafePress alternative you want SpreadShirt - http://en.spreadshirt.de
Right now their english version won't be online till spring 2005 (but if enough people pre-register they might work a little faster ) but if you can speak german, or use world.altavista.com to translate the text in one browser window, and sign up in anther window - you can have your european Cafepress look alike shop via www.spreadshirt.de!
And if you only want a one-off or mass-print, they do that too - look under Other Possibilities on right-hand side of english site.
The really good thing is that they do colour printing onto coloured tshirts. The major drawback with CafePress is everything is white! From what i've deciphered on spreadshirt.de it looks like getting coloured prints on coloured tshirts will cost a little up front, but should be rather competitive if you sell enough over 6 months.
that might have sounded like an advert, but if anyone else has found a company that has a build-your-own free shop online with colour printing on coloured textiles - please reply! Usually you have to have colour tshirts of varying sizes printed with custom colour artwork on them and in big-ish numbers - this way you just pay upfront for the design to be ready for print, not the tshirts themselves!

| Have been looking for a Cafepress alternative as well here in the states, one that isn't as greedy as they are in the profits.
Been looking for a website who prints and mails calendars with my image(s) to the customer. I have all the templates for the calendars. Just need them to print on demand with my image(s) and mail to customer. Know that Cafepress does this but want more options and cost for calendars.
Anyone know of others? |

| Hi all,
This whole cafepress setup looks pretty good - anyone ever managed to sell anything through them?
Don't know if its quite what your looking for but I did find http://t-shirtme.buy-tees.com/ which may be a possible option for the UK and http://www.zazzle.com/ or http://www.99dogs.com/
OK, I am off to do abit of designing! |

Ben | Yes they look quite pricey to me too. Could be because it's a german owned company according to the whois for the domain, so maybe the goods come from germany which would hike up the prices a bit.

Andy | Yeah it's a German company... but we all know now we are all the best of friends in the 'United States of Europe', prices are uniform across the 'nation' - companies wouldn't charge more for a product in Britain... would they? |

| Pfft @ £11.50 for a t-shirt!
You could of course just buy a pack of 10 t-shirt transfers for £6.99 and t-shirts for £3.49 each from viking direct = £4.92 per shirt (including the VAT) .. but i'm sure the raw materials could be purchased elsewhere for even cheaper if you look hard enough!

| Andy, the T-shirts start at 8.90 at spreadshirt,
see http://www.spreadshirt.net/Products_...ntin.17.0.html
for the pricing.
Also the comparison with buying some transfers is not the right one, since spreadshirt uses different printing methodes; since I'm from spreadshirt I'll not praise the quality, but believe me..bla, bal, advertise, praise, superb, bla, bla..... ;)
Nice regards,

| Are spreadshirt desperate for customers or something? Since when did these forums become advertising space for spreadshirt? Personally i hate any companies trying to hard sell me stuff and just go elsewhere

| Gosh, any cynical person might think that one spreadshirt answering another spreadshirt on a forum neither of them had been registered on before was a marketing gimmick. And look, the price has got better!
Personally, I think they might have been better just shouting from one desk to another. Or does that defeat the object? |

| Thinking about starting up a spreadshirt shop tomoz.. an easy way for my visitors to acquire merchandise with my company logo's and designs on.
Anyone else here with spreadshirt? If so, got any tips or advice?
