I'm looking for ways I can make a bit (or even a lot lol) of extra cash from a website. I'm completely new to things like adsence etc, and just wonder if there is any way (legally) to make money from a site without too much investment? Any help would be appreciated.

At the moment, my only site is a blog, which is done using blogger on my own webspace. I'm currently rewiting it in PHP. I may consider putting ads on this, but I was thinking of it for a future project (possibly a links directory) in which I could add affiliate schemes, adsence etc. At the moment, I'm really just looking for ideas, as the blog really doesnt get a lot of hits!

I'm sorry but I'm a bit too cynical for this - if anybody has figured out how to make easy money they're keeping it locked up & milking it for all it's worth! Definitely wouldn't share it.

But as general advice the usual business strategies still apply: look at what other (succesful) sites do, look at what's happening in the market and what new opportunities are opening up.

Advertising revenue is a classic income strategy and if your site has enough traffic it may well earn you a nice sum. But as with anything, it will require trial & error and testing to hit on a winning formula.

The first thing you shall do is to increase your traffic. For a website with about 5000 unique visitors per day, it has the possibility to make profit through Adsense. And if you have more, you can own money via affiliate program.
