Question PHP/Web training

Does anyone know of any good PHP/Web training courses in the UK. I found the following company from the PHP website: http://ebusiness.gbdirect.co.uk/ but they aint cheap. They do offer a good range of courses though. I'm looking to improve my PHP and learn more about CSS/xml and other web languages as a change of career is due!
Does anyone here have any reccomendations on training courses, or the best way to get my skills up to scratch to get into this area?
I'm more interested in databases and back end stuff rather than web design but its just a hobby at the moment.
Any comments/help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Dunc

A similar thing was discussed here a couple of months back regarding php/linux training. Might be worth reading, although it largely dismisses the idea of training courses.

The Open University offer a fairly wide range of web dev related modules, starting with basic xhtml/css and working up through to php, db's and such. I did the first module and wasn't terribly impressed, but it'd be fair to say I don't have the kind of motivation and mindset that suits formal education.

its not an actual course more of a collection of tutorials but lynda are pretty good at teaching/brushing-up about php.

www.lynda.com they have a selection of tutorials on css aswell. I learned the basic with 3ds max from there and would recomend the site.
