Hi Guys,

I have just completed working on this website Swift-Promotions, please let me know your first impression and general thoughts about it.

Both negative and possitive comments are appreciated in advance, especially from members that use other internet browsers like fire fox, netscape, aol and so on.

Thanks in advance.

Got some strange object errors from your site when trying to load it, so maybe whatever software/scripts your using are preventing some people from being able to review your page.

Also its been the weekend so fix those errors and allow a few more days and im sure you would then get some comments back.

Site loads fast with no problems for me in Safari.

I like that the forum it is simple and plain - it loads quickly and is easily readable which are all good things for a forum IMO.

There is a gap at the top between that red thing and the forum - if you are going to put an advert banner there it will be fine, otherwise I would move the forum up. I'm not one for replicating the Windows bar, but each to their own.

I didn't post a review as it looked like a straight-forward forum site.

I'm not quite sure how to use the site - do you just post an ad like in the classifieds or there is something more sophisticated at work to allow bidding?

Either way, I'm not sure how a forum approach works when compared to eBay. Not sure I'd ever use a forum to buy or sell. Without a rating system & a way to complain about fraudulent users, it doesn't feel secure.

Seems to have a large blank space at the top under the register band for me. Also, I'm not sure of the legalities of using the windows update '!' icon on your website...

Get your self an automated forum posting script like ICo-Content - Instant Community Content

Theres nothing worse than a dead or empty forum to turn potential members away!

Hi Matt, thanx for your feedback, somewhere at the back of my mind I knew that there was a kind of error locking somewhere on the site, but I couldn't find it, 2 weeks ago I decided to disable some irrelevant mods I installed and I'd not seen any error since then. I will be very grateful if you can send me the error mesage you encountered on the site, thanks in advance.

And, really sorry, I forgot it was weekend.

Hello Adam, thanks for your feedback on the site, I have never used Safari before, but I have a clue that if the site can load fast without problem on your site, it's most likely do well on IE.

The Gap bit you mentioned is meant to be flash 5 different flash banners, I found it weired as the banner is visible on my PC and not on my laptop, obviously this is got nothing to do with browser. But taken to your advice, I have removed the flash banners for now.

Please do check again to reconfirm if I have rectified this problem. Thanks alot.

Hi Terra and thanks for your response, you are absolutely right, the site is setup using a forum software but with plenty of addons to it including the bidding and rating system you mentioned, though not on ebay level.

A basic classified website where you can post anything for sale, wanted etc..., members interact using basic site features, reporting fraudulent user cannot be easier for a site like this, and that is if there is anything to report about. It cost you nothing to post your unwanted goods in there.... Thanks in advance.

Hi Sticky, I am in the process of rectifying the blank space, if I may ask what browser are you on? and regarding the legalities of using the windows update icon on the site, I have just installed that mod and will be changing the icon ASAP. Done... You can check to confirm it, thanks in advance.

Ah - okay that sounds interesting. Maybe you could highlight this on the homepage (a "beginners guide" or "why use xxx?") ... as a new shop, nobody will know how your site works and the benefits won't be clear. At the moment, the ads are probably the most obvious element of the site which is a shame.

The purpose of the site is mainly for advert posting only and nothing more. All other features like bidding is been disabled until further notice, I will activate other features of the site as time goes on... But will definately improve the customer informations area ASAP. Thanks Terra
