Warhammer 40k hobby site – 4 years old

From simple beginnings this site has blossomed over the years to encompass many articles, galleries and other items dedicated to one specific army-type within the mad world of science fiction tabletop wargaming that is Warhammer 40k.

Design is simple, clean and themed to the topic. It is easy to update with new content – I have very little spare time to mess around with too many rollover buttons so apart from main nav items most page links are via live text rollovers. Content is king here, design just has to be acceptbale to me as a designer without being too arty.

This year I've been getting about 1500–2000 visits per month (currently 794 visits as of today), with bandwidth of 500mb-1.2gb per month. But it is growing.

I want to expand by (possibly) adding a forum.

Anyway sorry for the rambling.

Nice clean site, but that front page won't help your search engine ratings. As you say, content is king, and never more so than the index page of your site. Might be worth either forgoing it, or add some SEO stuff to it. Just my 2p...

Actually crispibits this is on the cards .

I just need to work out whether to ditch it completely (which would cause problems), or just add some content to it. Probably the latter as it's the simplest and less invasive solution.

Having read Nielsons book on web useability for the first time recently, it has accelerated my desire to change the spash page – a product of early decade excesses.

Cheers
