Hmmm,

First I'd drop the Valid css logo as it means nothing to mums looking for a nursery for their kids and most of them will think its some kind of certification of the nursery which it isn't and is therefore misleading.

Next, your statement "our new website is intended to provide clear information" is at odds with the text being difficult to read because of its line spacing and being placed on top of the puzzle or grids.

Also, I have to search for links to things such as the photo gallery. i.e. the little "view" or "here" links are not very obvious which I think they should be.

The main logo is not very clear.

Much of the above may not be such a problem on big 1024x768 monitor but on mine at 1280x1024 19inch monitor it is.

You should check it on a Mac as you have image/text alignment issues on Safari and Firefox on the Mac.

Nice looking site, the background noise can be annoying. You need to have an option to turn the sound off though

I really like this, its differant and thats a goog thing these days, only comments would be:
Quote:
We have decided to password protect the gallery: If you require login details please contact the nursery.
WHY? does this not put user off?

Also i'd like to see the buttons light up, just so you know your in the right place, this might also assist people with bad vision or vision impairments.

Out of 10 i'd give you an 8.5

Probably for child protection these days. Wouldn't want pics of my kids available on the web I'm afraid.

I can understand that 100% but I do feel an immediate barrier on your site does you no good, not sure on the answer but maybe putting that section inside the site away from the front page might keep your visitors in longer?

As long as you have the parents' consent I see no reason to password protect a gallery. They're photo's of children having fun for goodness sake. Speaking as a parent I have no problem with having pictures of my kids on the web. Password protecting a gallery is akin to saying to all the dirty old men 'ooh look, something naughty behind this door' when it's nothing of the sort. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now...
The site looks ok-ish on firefox on Linux, but some of the images are mis-aligned - the dice are all weird. I agree with UKRobin about the buttons - it would be nice to get some indication that they *are* buttons. There's something else I can't put my finger on, but I'll post again when I've though about it...

Some quirky image alignment with Firefox on Windows too...

Nice design. Aside from that I'd just echo the minor problems already brought up by others, especially the readability issue, fix them and you're onto a winner.

The sound effect really grabbed my attention. Excellent idea. I suggest adding some keywords into the head of your page to support people finding it with search engines.

Might be worth running your site through WAVE - Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool it seems to have 8 accessibility issues.
