Chester Canalside Holidays

Its been a while since I posted a site to be reviewed, so here it is.

Chester Canalside Holidays in Wharton Court Lock | Stay in Chester | Vacations in Cheshire, UK

Since the previous versions of the site there have been a couple of changes.
I've removed the content wrapper that had a fixed height and used overflow

I've set all styles with em or % sizes
There is now an option to change the font size using "alternate" stylesheets
Finally I've added a couple of access keys
XHTML instead of HTML (Not totally validated yet)
Some pages are now in Spanish as well as English, we waiting translations for the rest...

The back end of the site has also changed but you can't see that!

Comments please!

Thanks,
Simon

black and grey colour scheme is not too inviting for a holiday destination.
The main heading looks as though it has been saved with no font smoothing. It's a little scratchy.

the curved black shape to the left of the content titles isn't always sitting flush to the navbar on IE7.

Percepts: I've unfortunatly not been in front of my main pc this week which has IE6 and other old and beta release (IE8,FF3) browsers installed, I'm back there later so I'll check what the problem is.
Color scheme is unfortunatly fixed as it is the colors they have been using since the business began and is reflected in all printed media as well.

GeeBee: That curve will be the end of me... In my browser it never moves from its correct location in IE7, sat next to me on another laptop the client also has IE7 and most of the time it is in the wrong place, probably as you are seeing it. A forced refresh Ctrl+F5, will move it back into place but then each new page it moves back to its incorrect position... I'll post this problem in the other forum category and see if anyone has any ideas why its not working.

Thanks for the replies,

Simon

Are you aware of this site: Test your web design in different browsers - Browsershots It provides screenshots of the site viewed in over 60 browsers.

I finally worked out what the problem was this afternoon, I had a copy of IE8beta hence the different appearance in the other laptop which was using IE7, I hope I've fixed the problem now, I'll give browsershots a go and see if I can spot any problems.
