I'm really impressed! Love the header, it's very original. good contrast with the shades of gray so it's not totally a white page layout. Footer looks a little loney though. You can't go wrong with a css driven website! No tables are the way to go!

I like the design but find the comments about the supermarkets offputting - the first thing I read on the site was a rant about supermarkets, whereas I'd rather seen some nice wines on the homepage. I first thought it was a website for a pressure group, but maybe that's one of the site's aims?

Design-wise it's very good. Only thing I found a bit strange was that the only way to buy wines is via the search function on the left. I'm assuming that the site is mainly for promotion, not for direct selling?

Brilliant site - only had a quick look but I really like it. Simple and elegant. Agree with Edit though - a place to slur supermarkets I would say shouldn't be the first page!

I agree with both of these. I didn't even notice that the site sold wine until Terra mentioned it and my first thought was "Wow, why are they so angry?".

The design is just terrific, love it. Brilliantly speedy too. I'd lose the mailto: link on the contact us page though.

Thanks for all the comments! Its always good to see what other people think of it! I totally agree with the supermarkets thing on the front page and also displaying the wine on the front page. I will have to re-tink the front page so it creats an impact for selling rather than commenting.

Very nice looking website. Agree with others about the anti-supermarket rant on the homepage - may be better under a "Why buy from us?" or "10 reasons to buy from us" type of link.

The checkout looks to be a well-styled osCommerce checkout procedure.

Three minor criticisms.

1. On the shopping basket page the 'Proceed to checkout' button just says 'Proceed to checl' because the rest of it is cut off on the right of the screen (that's in IE 6)
2. In Firefox you get the same effect but the button isn't on the right it's wrapping beneath the button on the left.
3. Also if wine only ships in quantities of 12 why make people manually update their own shopping basket - which loads only a quantity of 1. The first time I tried to proceed to checkout I ended up with an error because of the quantity.
