| awstats top tip As we all know, awstats has country IP lookup switched off. If your site gets a large percentage of its hits via google, then a simple and highly effeicient way of getting country information is to edit your awstats search_engine.pm file and put in entries for google.com (mostly usa), google.co.uk, google.fr, google.de etc etc etc
This way you get a break down of which countries the google searches come from without having to do any reverse dns lookups and without using any geoip routines.
The searchengine file needs editing in four places for each additional google country you put in. The file is simple enough to understand if you look at it and you only have to add which google countries you want and the rest will be accumulated into the standard google accumulator. Just make sure you leave the rest of google accumulator as last entry so it catches whats left.
