How to get contents when htaccess is on

hello all,

I have one folder on one server which is protected with htaccess password. now i wann to read all the file listing and file content of that folder through ftp commands. as its protected its nt allwing me to access through FTP .

FTP is totally seperate to Apache, and therefore .htaccess will not be the problem in this case. Your problem is with something else...

ya its nt ftp.. but i am connectin through ftp and then workign wid file commands. now how do i provide authorization details here..

file_get_contents works a lot better with local file paths, is it not possible to specify the relative path to the file? this would then mean you don't need the username and password..
