Paypal and Oscommerce Customisation

I have a site working with oscommerce and paypal module, and it works absolutely fine.

However my client it concerned that their web clients and clicking checkout and then being taken to paypal and do not know how it works and do not bother continuing.

I personally cannot understand this, as you simple pay by credit card or by paypal account, but my client thinks this is not obvious.

So can I customise this to process payment via credit card or paypal step before going to paypal???

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

PayPal Pro with PayPal Express - it's a service which allows processing of credit cards. There are providers who offer compatible osCommerce integration. But ask your client to check out the Pro costs first so that there any surprises.

Or just offer any other additional payment module - e.g. Protx VSP Direct. Again osCom compatible integrations are available.

With osCom you can offer any number of payment options, so there's no problem with installing additional options.

All the best - Terra

I think your client has a good point that some people might be confused. I imagine they'd prefer something whereby the customer never leaves their own site to pay such as Protx VSP Direct (or others) as suggested by Terra.

Question is, are they prepared to pay you for the work required?

Exactly Tim, the reason paypal is so often used because it is cheap to implement and the client never understand the cost implecations of other solutions.

Have many other people used Protx and is it easy to implement with oscommerce and even other cart solutions like virtuemart on joomla.

Yep, you've just got to explain it to them

Many people are using Protx with osC and you'll find loads of support on the osC forums and Terra/Vger's osC forums. I don't know about other carts and Protx.
